Is The Oreo Design A Freemason Conspiracy?

An article posted by The Atlantic discusses the intricate design history of the Oreo cookie. Apparently, some Oreo fans have speculated that parts of the cookie’s design may stem from symbols used by the Knights Templar as well as the Freemasons. Some argue the circle topped with a two-bar cross may be a “Cross of Lorraine,” and the geometric pattern could be a cross pattee. Whether or not you buy into these theories, the cookie’s design history is certainly an interesting story.
